Human Resources Business PartnerThe Human Resources Business Partner will directly support the Human Resources Director in driving operational growth, transformation, and Human Resources employee development through day-to-day support including organizational recruitment, retention, onboarding, benefits, payroll, employee relations, training, performance management, policy implementation, employment law compliance and special projects. This is an onsite position.The Human Resources Business Partner plays an integral role in support of Neighborhood Health's philosophy and mission.Duties/Responsibilities:Recruitment, Hiring and Separation:Oversight and coordination of recruitment and selection processes, background screening, onboarding and termination processes including conducting new hire orientations, exit interviews, etc.Collaborate with department managers to understand the skills and competencies required for job openings. Assists in updating job requirements when neededOversight and coordination of residents, intern and/or volunteer support across the organization to maximize quality of the experience for participants and 'host' teams while ensuring compliance with labor requirementsRepresent Neighborhood Health in community recruiting eventsBenefits Administration:Responsible for open-enrollment process, electronic configuration, employee communication and website, coordination of enrollment services in partnership with benefits broker, processing and auditing of invoices, etc.Deliver employee customer service in navigating, troubleshooting and providing support in the administration of benefits offered to employeesReview and offer input on benefit programs, as needed, including benchmarking using appropriate data sources and identification of best practicesOversight and audit coordination of retirement planOversight of ERISA compliance and reportingPayroll Administration:Provide compensation related data to support preparation and processing of payroll as required. Ensure timely resolution of compensation – related queriesOversight and audit of the bi-weekly payroll processOversight of the W2 preparation in partnership with payroll vendorPartner with the Finance Department on federal and state tax reportingOversight of yearend payroll activitiesOversight of payroll audit process and reportingHuman Resources Administration:Oversight and management of a performance appraisal system that drives high performance and organizational collaborationManagement of all employee data, records and files in accordance with statutory and organizational requirements. Ensuring that files and systems are up to date and accurate at all timesManagement of timely distribution of statutory employee noticesManagement of appropriate absence monitoring including use of electronic time-keeping systems liaising with managers as requiredWorks in partnership with Employee Health and Infection Control Nurse to ensure OSHA compliance and employee health requirementsOversight and working in partnership with the IT systems department in all onboarding, termination and active employee system access and equipment distributionCoordinate and offer input, as needed in operations /human resource policies and proceduresIdentify opportunities, activities and actions to improve employee engagementContribute ideas for employee recognition activitiesOversight and coordination of employee recognition activitiesIn liaison with key managers, work collaboratively in the provision and coordination of professional development, training, and other learning opportunities across the organizationEmployee Relations:Serve as communicator and coach on Human Resources policies and proceduresInteract with employees and coach managers in conflict resolutionAssist in conducting Human Resources investigations into employee grievances and recommend disciplinary action, if neededOther Duties:Assist with developing, coordinating and recommending changes for the improvement of Human Resources workflowsMay be assigned to various project lead roles to advance the development of the department and support ad hoc needsMay be asked to perform additional duties and take on other responsibilitiesQualification/Education and/or Experience Requirements:A minimum of 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience, at least 2 of the 5 years in a Human Resources Generalist role, with a proven track record of successfully working within a team and in support of a mid-size organization requiredExperience in mid-sized non-profit organization delivering high-value Human Resources services preferredExperience in Payroll processing preferredEducation:Bachelor's degree preferably in Human Resources, Business or other similar areas of study, requiredMaster's degree, preferredSpecialized Knowledge and Skills:Must have organizational acumen and sound Human Resources knowledgeAbility to assess situations and analyze data for informed decision-makingIn-depth knowledge of US employment laws and Human Resources best practicesMust have high level of competence and confidence in dealing with employee relations mattersMust have experience in developing and conducting trainingMust be confident and have the ability to coach others and share knowledgeHigh level of computer competency and proficiency in MS Office suite, HRIS and payrolls systemsPersonal Attributes:High level of personal and professional integrity, ethics, strong business orientation and drive for resultsMust be willing to accept responsibility and make decisions based on facts, education and understanding of organizational needs, culture and missionEmpathy and compassion to deal with unique staff situationsMust exercise a high degree of confidentialityAbility to prioritize and take immediate actions in a busy work environmentMust be well organized and able to juggle multiple tasks - dynamic, and action-orientated, who can meet deadlinesMust have ability to influence, network, negotiate, counsel and mediateMust have the ability to build and maintain relationships and work confidently with staff at all levelsMust possess an enthusiastic and approachable personalityMust be an excellent communicator (written and verbal) with the ability to earn trust and credibilityAble to work under minimal supervision and exercise independent judgement, take initiative, and also must be an enthusiastic team player
