Medical Assistant Certified Dermatology

Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) provides essential clinical support in a dermatology outpatient clinic setting. This role involves obtaining vital signs, preparing patients for exams, assisting with dermatological procedures such as biopsies and dressing changes, specimen collection, and maintaining aseptic techniques. The MA-C collaborates with providers and staff to ensure efficient patient flow and quality care. The position requires at least six months of experience in an adult or pediatric outpatient clinic, with dermatology experience preferred, and demands reliable transportation for occasional floating to nearby locations. Responsibilities:

• Obtain and record patient vital signs accurately.
• Prepare patients for examination, including positioning and draping.
• Record patient history, medications, and allergies.
• Set up and assist with dermatological procedures such as biopsies and dressing changes.
• Prepare aseptic and sterile procedure trays.
• Collect, label, and manage specimens appropriately.
• Perform suture removal and wound care as directed.
• Room patients efficiently and maintain aseptic technique throughout procedures.
• Float to other clinic locations (West Seattle, Bellevue, Issaquah) as needed for staffing coverage.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) credential required; MA-R, MA-P, or MA-HT not accepted.
• Minimum of 6 months experience as an MA-C in an adult or pediatric outpatient clinic setting.
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical records system.
• Proficiency in vital sign measurement, aseptic technique, specimen labeling, and dermatology-related procedures.
• Reliable personal transportation (public transportation not acceptable).

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience working in a dermatology clinic setting.

Special Considerations:

• This is a temporary-to-hire position with a 13-week contract duration.
• Candidate must be willing and able to join the clinic permanently after the contract if offered.
• No weekend or on-call requirements.
• Floating to other nearby clinic locations required occasionally for staffing coverage.
• Reliable transportation required; candidates with additional scheduling restrictions are not eligible.

Scheduling:

• Five 8-hour shifts per week, Monday through Friday.
• No weekend shifts.
• Shift times determined by clinic needs; floating shifts as necessary for coverage.
