Recreation Assistant Department: Recreation Employment Type: Full Time Location: Main Location Compensation: $20.00 / hour Description Job Overview: Full Time Tuesday-Saturday 8a-4:30pm Together with the Recreation Director, the Recreation Assistant assists in the development and execution of therapeutic recreational services to all residents with supervision in accordance with federal, state and local standards. Helps ensure the highest quality recreation program is provided. The Recreation Assistant assists in a full range of therapeutic recreational programs and activities for all residents with appropriate concern for residents’ physical and emotional limitations, and individual interests. Ensures observance of religious days, social events, national holidays and traditional celebrations when planning residents’ calendar of events. Encourages resident participation in therapeutic recreational activities. Carries out activities appropriate to resident’s level of functioning. Key Responsibilities Responsibilities Runs recreational activities and events tailored to residents’ interests and needs, ensuring a lively and inclusive atmosphere. Helps event venues, including setup, logistics, and safety protocols, ensuring smooth operations for all activities. Maintain accurate records of program participation Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Preferred Qualifications Possess at least one year experience in rehabilitative or geriatric setting. Strong computer skills and general healthcare knowledge. Strong consideration for having a talent such as gardening, food prep, arts/crafts, musical talent. Minimum Requirements: Ability to provide weekend and Holiday coverage of recreation activities.
