Job Title: Cath Lab Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Cardiac Cath Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: 3 years in cardiac Cath lab; first-time travelers with a proven background of 3 years accepted License: Active state RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI (on-site during orientation); NIH preferred Must-Have: Experience with End-Tidal CO2 monitoring Experience with Activated Clotting Time (ACT) Experience with Cardiac Ablation Experience with Pacemaker Insertion Experience with Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI) Description: Cath Lab Registered Nurse position available. The role involves performing procedures on adult patients with cardiac conditions. Expected patient diagnoses include Acute Coronary Syndrome, Congestive Heart Failure, STEMI/NSTEMI, Atrial Fibrillation, and Bradycardia. Common procedures include Percutaneous Coronary Interventions, Pacemaker insertions, loop monitoring, Transesophageal Echocardiograms, and Cardioversions. The daily patient census is typically 7-14 cases. The unit is equipped with Balloon Pumps and IVUS. Scrubs will be royal blue. On-call requirements include a 30-minute arrival time when scheduled. Scheduled on-call shifts will vary, with evening shifts during the week and 24-hour shifts over weekends/holidays. Weekend shifts may be required based on department needs. Holidays will be scheduled as needed. Travelers may be required to float to pre-operative and post-anesthesia care units as needed.
