Job Title: Private Duty Pediatric Nurse (Home Health)

Agency: Altra Home Health Location: Russiaville, IN  Position Type: Daytime and Night Time - Full-time/Part-time/PRN  Reports To: Clinical Supervisor

Job Summary

Altra Home Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Nurse to join our team. In this rewarding role, you’ll provide personalized care to  pediatric patients in their homes — many of whom have complex medical conditions , including gastrostomy tubes (G-tubes), cerebral palsy, chronic diseases , and occasionally require tracheostomy or ventilator support . You’ll play a vital role in helping them live safely and comfortably in their home, where they thrive the most.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough head-to-toe assessments and follow individualized plans of care

• Provide care which may include G-tube feedings, medication administration, wound care, trach care and ventilator support.

• Care for patients with professionalism and empathy.

• Educate patients and caregivers on disease management, emergency procedures, and therapeutic techniques

• Collaborate closely with physicians, therapists, and other team members to optimize care

• Document all care activities accurately and promptly in compliance with agency and state requirements

• Maintain rigorous safety, infection control, and privacy standards

Shift Information

• Shift durations range from 4 to 12 hours , depending on patient needs and nurse availability

• Flexible scheduling options available for daytime, nighttime, evening, and weekend shifts

• Opportunities for consistent long-term cases or variable schedules

Qualifications

• Active Nursing license in Indiana or an active compact Nursing license

• At least [1–2] years of clinical nursing experience (home health and pediatric experience strongly preferred)

• Experience with G-tube, trach, or vent care preferred (but training will be offered)

• Current CPR certification

• Strong critical thinking and independent decision-making abilities

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
