About the Opportunity


A well-established and growing organization is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its accounting team in Morgantown. This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working with numbers, solving problems, and keeping financial information accurate and organized.

The Staff Accountant will support accounting operations across multiple business units, with a strong focus on account reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, financial reporting, and maintaining accurate financial records.

This position would be a great fit for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, analytical, and looking to grow within a collaborative accounting environment.

What You'll Do

• Reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet accounts across multiple business units
• Prepare and post month-end journal entries and accruals
• Assist with the month-end close process and ensure deadlines are met
• Research and resolve discrepancies and transactional issues
• Maintain accurate workpapers and supporting accounting documentation
• Assist with monthly and quarterly financial reporting
• Prepare schedules, reconciliations, and documentation for internal and external audits
• Work closely with accounting and administrative teams to maintain consistent processes
• Support accounting teams with questions and complex transactions
• Identify opportunities to improve, streamline, or automate accounting processes
• Maintain accurate and organized financial records

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 2-4 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or accounting operations experience
• Solid understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close
• Experience preparing journal entries
• Strong Excel skills and comfort working in spreadsheets
• Experience working with multiple entities, divisions, or business units is a plus
• Familiarity with accounting software or financial systems
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organization and time-management skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Self-motivated, dependable, and willing to learn
