HVAC Truck Based Mechanic Apprentice (union)

We will equip you with tools and a vehicle to perform your job at the highest standard. Responsibilities Provide our customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service‑related items. As a trusted advisor to our customers, you will provide solutions and outcomes at the time of service. Apprentices will be trained and will perform on HVAC mechanical equipment and controls on client sites. Apprentices will participate in certified training through STA that builds skill sets to provide continued opportunities for recognition, monetary rewards, and advancement. Through coaching and mentorship, apprentices will develop skills to troubleshoot and resolve both technical issues and customer needs. You will keep JCI, contractors, and the customer advised of job progress and issues as needed. You will meet attendance requirements for required Union training for the first year. Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure the facility is running efficiently, including upselling opportunities. Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions. Qualifications Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL‑CIO. Willing to travel within a four‑hour range from home, including overnight stays. Effective interpersonal skills to properly represent Johnson Controls to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner. Self‑starter with the ability to eventually work independently. Prioritize safety in all forms. This position requires a valid driver’s license and a background check. Preferred: 1–2 years of trade school or college in a technical emphasis. Benefits This is a Bargaining Unit Position. Pay Range: $20.01–$21.68 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
