Overview As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be a pivotal healthcare professional, delivering compassionate, high-quality care that truly impacts our patients' well-being and recovery. You will leverage your expertise to provide individualized, comprehensive care, make critical assessments, perform skilled procedures, and implement patient care plans. You will collaborate within an interdisciplinary team to focus on optimal patient outcomes. Responsibilities Utilizes the nursing process to ensure appropriate patient care is provided in a cost-effective, quality-driven, and patient-focused manner. Collects pertinent social, psychological, developmental and spiritual data from the patient, significant others and other health care team members. Performs ongoing assessment, formulates nursing diagnoses and goals, plans appropriate interventions, and evaluates the outcomes of the interventions. Consistently documents in patient and unit records according to written health system standards of care to meet legal and quality patient care requirements. Provides appropriate teaching and information to patients and families including information on Pain Management, Nutrition, Skin Integrity, Fall Prevention, Diabetes, Disease Process, Smoking Cessation, and Discharge instructions. Demonstrates commitment to the goals and values of the patient, hospital, community, and nursing profession through cost containment, maintaining confidentiality, ethical decision-making, and ensuring patient safety. Uses interventions substantiated by research as appropriate in the patient population, participates in research activities, identifies opportunities for research, and collaborates with Outcomes managers and department teams. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, Associate or Bachelor’s Degree Registered Nurse: TX, upon hire Basic Life Support (BLS) - CPR, within 14 days Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), within 6 months Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), within 6 months Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC), within 12 months Where You'll Work St. Joseph Health has been caring for the communities in and surrounding the Brazos Valley since 1936 (Bryan/College Station, Navasota, Caldwell, Madisonville (TX)).
