As a Host/Hostess at Mellow Mushroom Hilton Head Island, you will play a vital role in creating memorable dining experiences for our guests. You'll be the first person they see, setting the tone for their visit in our vibrant, fast-paced restaurant. Your warm smile and excellent communication skills will help ensure that every guest feels welcomed and valued, making this position both rewarding and fun.
Key Responsibilities
- Guest Service: Greet all guests with a smile upon arrival and maintain an upbeat atmosphere in a fast-paced environment.
- Seating Arrangements: Seat guests according to server availability while accommodating special requests and answering menu questions.
- Waiting List Management: Efficiently manage the waiting list by recording names and party sizes and providing estimated wait times.
- Phone Management: Answer phones and assist with the waitlist system, providing information about the Mellow experience to call-in guests.
- Take-Out Assistance: Assist with take-out orders as needed to ensure smooth operations.
- Table Presentation: Inspect tables for proper presentation and completeness, and assist servers and team members when called upon.
- Guest Farewell: Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return, ensuring every guest leaves with a positive memory.
Requirements
- Prior experience in a hospitality or restaurant setting is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
