Position: Maintenance Trades Specialist II - HVAC

Location: IL Masonic Medical Center; Chicago, IL. - Northside Neighborhood

Full Time; 1st Shift

~Tuesday-Friday 7am-3:30pm, & Saturday 3pm-11:30pm

Major Responsibilities:

• 
  Conducts preventive maintenance tasks and repairs on basic facility systems and documents tasks through the computerized maintenance system.
  
  



• 
  Assists in evaluating and troubleshooting basic building system failures and performs repairs as directed.
  
  



• 
  Operates and monitors and maintains basic Utility System
  
  
  Infrastructure.
  
  
  
  



• 
  Assist in maintaining fire alarm and fire protection systems.
  
  



• 
  Supports the installation of building hardware, electrical devices, and wall finishes under supervision.
  
  



• 
  Maintains preventive maintenance records and equipment repair files for compliance.
  
  



• 
  Reads blueprints, Life Safety drawings and maintenance manuals to gain knowledge needed to complete assignments.
  
  

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

• 
  
  
  Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of technical training.
  
  
  
  



• 
  
  
  Valid Drivers License
  
  
  
  

Education Required:

• 
  
  
  High school diploma or GED equivalent
  
  
  
  

Experience Required:

• 
  
  
  2-4 Years of Experience in relatable industrial/trades maintenance or operations.
  
  
  
  

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

• 
  Works within clearly defined standard operating
  
  
  procedures.
  
  
  
  



• 
  Intermediate level computer skills in using systems such as CMMS, Microsoft Office, Building Automation Systems.
  
  



• 
  Good communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  
  



• 
  Ability to work with minimal oversight with intermediate level technical skills in facility
  
  
  maintenance.
  
  
  
  

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• 
  Works required shifts and participates in on-call duty to provide 24/7 coverage.
  
  



• 
  Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, crawl, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.
  
  



• 
  Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. from floor to overhead, lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to chest-level, lift and carry up to 50 lbs. at waist height a reasonable distance.
  
  



• 
  Must be able to push/pull with 50 lbs. of force.
  
  



• 
  Exposure to electrical and mechanical hazards and therefore knowledge of safety precautions.
  
  



• 
  Position requires travel. May be exposed to road/weather hazards.
  
  



• 
  Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
  
  

Preferred Job Requirements:

• 
  Recognized community college/tech school trade certificate experience or completion of a recognized community college program.
  
  



• 
  Trade/Tech School Trades Certificate or trades or industry recognized certification/license requiring Continuing Education Units or periodic renewal to maintain.
  
  



• 
  2+ Years of Experience in relatable industrial/trades maintenance or operations.
