Diagnostic Radiologic TechnologistDepartment: Diagnostic RadiologySchedule: PRN, Day/Evening/Nights (As Needed)General Summary: Performs routine and specialized diagnostic and technical radiographic procedures at an intermediate skill level.ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions:Performs radiographic examinations, obtains patient history, explains routine procedures, and addresses patient concerns.Performs diagnostic procedures in one of the following specialty areas at an intermediate level: complex orthopedic, neuro and vascular operating room procedures (includes overhead, fluoroscopic and portable C-arm procedures); complex portables, or trauma procedures.Demonstrates leadership skills; oversees the work of other personnel by training, allocating and monitoring work. Performs work of a similar natureSchedules cases to coordinate with other patient examinations.Positions and transfers patients safely and comfortably and explains basic procedure.Immobilizes patients as necessary and practices radiation safety procedures.Properly processes images using digital technology; resolves problems in the PACS and EHR systems, has the ability to cancel unnecessary orders upon request of providers (site specific)Evaluates recorded images for technical quality, consistently maintains a repeat rate under the National Standard of 65Participates in and collaborates with other departments on projects to improve care and efficiency as needed; participates in at least 1 project including but not limited to: equipment QA (monthly, quarterly testing), creating standards of work, engagement committee.Common Expectations:Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of the assigned patient population.
