QMHP Community Crisis Stabilization Mental Health Counselor

Community Based QMHP - Community Stabilization EMS of Virginia is seeking a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) registered with the Board of Counseling to provide Crisis Stabilization Services in the greater Richmond area (city of Richmond, Henrico, Chesterfield, Petersburg, Hanover, and surrounding areas). EMS of Virginia has been in business since 2005 serving the mental health needs of the Tri‑Cities area. Duties See clients in the community (e.g., client homes) and provide one‑to‑one mental health counseling related to goals. Provide skill building to adults with serious mental illness. Accompany adult clients to appointments and link them with resources in the community. Case‑manage to ensure clients’ basic needs are met. Provide individual and family counseling to children and adolescents. Complete individualized service plans and progress notes for each session. Provide information needed for authorization of services. Attend supervision and team meetings regularly. Qualifications Registered QMHP with the Board of Counseling. Experience providing crisis stabilization in a community setting. Desire or experience working with children and/or adults with serious mental illness. Commitment to following agency standards and maintaining documentation. Licensure or licensure‑eligible as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) preferred; willing to work toward licensure with supervision.
