Administrative Manager (Registered Nurse Preferred) - Dermatology

The Kimberly and Eric J. Waldman Department of Dermatology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is dedicated to delivering superior, comprehensive dermatologic care that exceeds patient expectations and to advancing the science of dermatology through research and education. The Department thrives on a passion to improve the lives of patients through science and to provide cost‑effective treatment. The Administrative Manager plans, directs and oversees all administrative operations, human resources, and/or clinical services, including facilities planning, maintenance, custodial operations, grants and contracts, and the capital budget. Responsibilities Manages and coordinates activities of clerical, administrative, and call‑center personnel of the department Analyzes internal processes and plans or implements procedural and policy changes to improve operations Recommends cost‑saving methods, such as supply changes and disposal of records, to improve efficiency of the department Prepares and reviews operational reports and schedules to ensure accuracy and efficiency Assists in the planning of budgetary needs by analyzing short- and long‑term program plans; collaborates with department leadership to assure completion of the annual budget and monitors the financial status of the department, unit or division Interprets and administers personnel policies such as hiring, performance appraisals, training, staff disciplinary activity and salary recommendations; ensures compliance with federal, state and local regulations regarding equal pay and equal employment Facilitates creation of training programs and conducts training for staff to carry out departmental programs and services Facilitates implementation of quality‑assurance programs to meet standards and regulations of federal, state and city accrediting agencies Ensures standards and regulations of accrediting agencies such as the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare (JCAHO) and the New York State and City Department of Health are met Chairs department committees and participates in hospital committees as assigned Performs other related duties Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred 7+ years of experience in an administrative or management capacity Registered Nurse credential is preferred Compensation The salary range for this role is $78,884 – $118,000 annually. Actual salaries depend on experience, education, and operational need. The range does not include bonuses, incentive pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
