Manufacturing Maintenance Technician

Position Summary

A Maintenance Technician (Referred to as "MT") is a specialty position in our bakery. They are valuable members of the team focused on supporting the necessary upkeep, installation, and servicing of plant equipment for all departments in the plant. They will also be responsible for new installations and operations of equipment to minimize downtime. In addition, MT will assist in the training on all equipment in the building. All MTs must be willing to work at any level of project execution ranging from planning to clean-up and any necessary action in between. 

Key Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and repair industrial production equipment with a strong focus on electrical and controls systems
Diagnose issues involving 3-phase power, VFDs, motors, sensors, and control circuits
Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities
Assist with parts usage and inventory coordination related to maintenance work
Document work in CMMS (training provided if needed)
Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environment

Must Posses Qualifications

Industrial electrical troubleshooting experience:3-phase power, VFD drives, motors
Industrial controls troubleshooting experience: VFD circuits, control wiring, sensors such as PLC I/O, control wiring, sensors
Strong intellectual curiosity
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to work overtime as part of a 6-day schedule

Better if you have but we can train

Food processing or industrial manufacturing experience
CMMS experience
Inventory or parts management exposure
Formal industrial or technical training

Essential Functions

Responsible for plant repairs and preventative maintenance across all departments, including production, packaging, routing and fulfillment, utilities and sanitation QA and Compliance, and the business office.

• Ensures all equipment is tagged and updated on the asset list
• Develops and ensures adherence to the PM schedule
• Maintains inventory on all tools, equipment, spare parts, and orders supplies as needed
• Encourage positive relationships with contractors, equipment vendors and service providers
• Works with QA Department to ensure maintenance is compliant with all food safety and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) programs and their attendant intervention systems
• Maintenance assists in cross training teams and initiates corrective actions for ongoing compliance
• Conducts training sessions to ensure companywide standardization
• Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient workspace to minimize accidents
• All functions and duties following written and verbal instructions
• Maintain a professional and courteous attitude towards co-workers, management, customers, and clients.
• Requires all positions to utilize basic computer software for scheduling, requesting time off, setting up and maintaining pay and personal information as set forth by HR

General Duties

• Maintains clear communication with the staff, supervisors, managers, and partner
• Attend mandatory meetings

Compliance & Quality

• Ensure duties comply with company policies, GMPs, SQF/GFSI standards, HACCP requirements, and food safety regulations

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to perform work within a food manufacturing and warehouse environment, including:

• Operation of industrial food production and packaging equipment
• Ability to move throughout a manufacturing facility safely and efficiently
• Frequent standing and walking for extended periods (8–10 hours)
• Occasional sitting for administrative and project management activities
• Ability to bend, stoop, twist, and perform repetitive movements
• Ability to lift and move materials and ingredients weighing up to 50 pounds when necessary
• Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, and production conditions

Hours & Compensation

• Full-Time Position
• Open availability required, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed to support production operations.
• Compensation commensurate with experience, qualifications, and industry expertise.
