About the Position

• Provide direct patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
• Prepare the OR for surgeries, ensuring that instruments, supplies, and equipment are available and sterile.
• Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists intraoperatively by anticipating needs and ensuring adherence to sterile field practices.
• Monitor patient status throughout the perioperative process, documenting and communicating any changes to the surgical team.
• Ensure accurate counts of instruments, sponges, and sharps according to facility policy.
• Maintain strict adherence to infection control, safety, and quality standards.
• Provide education and support to patients and families regarding surgical procedures and postoperative care.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and OR staff to ensure efficient patient flow and optimal outcomes.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience in an acute care or hospital setting (Level I Trauma experience preferred).
• Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
• Licensure/Certification:
• Active Florida RN license or Compact State License (required).
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (required).
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred.
• Specialty certification (CNOR) a plus.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in surgical instrumentation, circulating, and scrubbing roles.
• Experience with various surgical specialties such as general, ortho, neuro, vascular, and robotics.
• Familiarity with EMR and perioperative documentation systems.
