TMC Staffing is seeking an experienced Shipping Clerk to join our client’s team. The Shipping Clerk is responsible for accurately processing incoming and outgoing shipments, verifying materials and documentation, operating material-handling equipment, and maintaining accurate shipping and receiving records.

Job Responsibilities

• Process shipping and receiving transactions from loading/unloading through system-confirmed receipt and shipment.
• Verify pallet and carton counts before signing Bills of Lading (BOLs).
• Compare items and purchase order (PO) numbers against packing lists for accuracy.
• Break down, wrap, stage, and prepare pallets for shipment.
• Sort mixed items and ensure materials are properly organized.
• Perform manual and clerical duties related to the shipment and receipt of materials, supplies, equipment, and finished products.
• Prepare and verify shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading and shipping instructions.
• Check outgoing goods against shipping documents and required authorizations.
• Pack products according to specifications, equipment requirements, transportation methods, and delivery routes.
• Verify product identification, quantity, and quality prior to shipment.
• Load shipments onto trucks using appropriate material-handling equipment.
• Receive raw materials, components, equipment, and other incoming products.
• Unload incoming shipments primarily using forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Verify incoming materials against Bills of Lading, packing slips, and other receiving documentation.
• Maintain accurate records of goods received, shortages, discrepancies, and damaged materials.
• Maintain inventory of shipping and packing supplies, including cartons, tape, crates, clamps, foam, and related materials.
• Assist with outbound load planning to meet customer delivery requirements and cost expectations.
• Coordinate the movement and availability of materials throughout the facility as needed.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material-handling equipment safely.
• Use small hand tools as required.
• Evaluate and communicate requested or required changes within established timelines.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, or logistics preferred.
• Experience reading and verifying Bills of Lading, packing lists, and purchase orders.
• Forklift and material-handling experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to safely lift, move, and handle materials.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse or manufacturing environment.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn shipping/receiving systems.
