Project Controls Consultant II

Job Title

Pay Range: $44.66hr - $49.66hr

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Project Management, or related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong experience in project controls, budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Proficiency with Power BI and Microsoft 365 applications including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in project environments.

Experience

• 3 to 5 years of project management or project controls experience required.
• Experience developing and maintaining project budgets and forecasts.
• Experience preparing financial and cost management reports.
• Experience supporting large-scale or complex projects preferred.
• Experience with cost variance analysis and change management processes.
• Prior experience in utility, construction management, or infrastructure projects preferred.
• Experience supporting electrical substation or capital improvement projects is a plus.
• Project Management certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project budgets, baselines, forecasts, and expenditure plans for electrical substation projects.
• Prepare routine and complex financial and project control reports.
• Support cost monitoring, forecasting, and project financial management activities.
• Assist project managers and stakeholders with budget tracking, commitments, and expenditure analysis.
• Review and report project cost overruns and underruns against approved budgets and forecasts.
• Conduct cost assessments and provide variance explanations related to scope, schedule, materials, or project changes.
• Update and maintain change management tools based on project impact analysis.
• Develop reporting dashboards and project performance metrics.
• Coordinate with project teams to ensure accurate project cost tracking and reporting.
• Support project planning, scheduling, and resource management activities.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting records.
• Assist with process improvements related to project controls and financial management.
