Sonographer - Echocardiographer Technologist

Summary of Position:
• Perform complete and focused echocardiographic examinations to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac conditions.

Functions of Position:
• Maintains established departmental policies and procedures.
• Performs sonography procedures; obtains patient history.
• Maintains records of examination date and other pertinent information on patients.
• Checks equipment, supplies, and accessories on a regular basis.
• Maintains equipment in efficient operating order; contacts outside service for major malfunctions.
• Maintains order and cleanliness of work area.
• Positions and transports patients comfortably.
• Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
• Attend meetings as required.

Qualifications:
• Graduate of AMA approved school of Medical Imaging preferred. Graduate of CAHEA Accredited Program in Ultrasonography. Must be registered by ARDMS, ARRT, or equivalent organization within 1 year.
