Financial Counselor

Responsibilities Provide personal financial services at assigned military installations, including: Full breadth of personal financial counseling services to military service members and families. One‑on‑one counseling, briefings, presentations, and referrals to external resources. Develop and distribute informational financial materials. Plan and conduct publicized Personal Financial Management classes/workshops covering all military lifecycle events. Respond to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars. Utilize virtual counseling or electronic communication modes, as authorized. Manage duty‑to‑warn situations per DoD protocol. Communicate with leadership; participate in supervision sessions and share trends or issues. Participate in in‑services, training, quality improvement committees, and other contract activities as assigned. Perform all other duties as assigned that align with the intent of this role. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; associate degree plus 4 years of experience or high school diploma plus 6 years of experience may be considered. 3+ years of financial counseling experience. U.S. citizenship and fluent English; bilingual English/Spanish if required by contract. Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation. Must pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosure for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process. Must hold at least one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
