Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Summary:

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide specialized care in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This role involves managing patient recovery from anesthesia, ensuring safety, and coordinating care for both outpatient and inpatient populations.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Assess patient condition and monitor vital signs to ensure safe recovery from anesthesia.
  
  
• 
  Administer medications and sedation as prescribed, following established protocols.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with surgical teams and anesthesia providers to coordinate patient care.
  
  
• 
  Document patient findings, interventions, and progress accurately in the electronic medical record.
  
  
• 
  Manage patient transfers to appropriate units or discharge patients following recovery milestones.
  
  
• 
  Provide education to patients and families regarding post-operative care and instructions.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold a valid RN license with at least 1 year of PACU or perioperative nursing experience.
  
  
• 
  Possess current BLS and ACLS certifications.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate knowledge of cardiac and vascular procedures, including heart caths and structural heart interventions.
  
  
• 
  Be proficient in clinical assessment, sedation management, and post-op monitoring.
  
  
• 
  Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends and recognized holidays, with call responsibilities.
  
  
• 
  Experience with EPIC EMR system preferred.
