Job Title: CNC Machinist
Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Mill Machinist to join our team in a dynamic job shop environment. You will be responsible for setting up and programming CNC milling machines to produce precision parts, meeting varied customer requirements. The schedule is Monday–Thursday, 6:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m., with overtime available on Fridays.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mills for short-run and custom machining jobs.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and machining instructions.
• Select tooling, set offsets, load programs, and verify first-piece accuracy.
• Inspect parts throughout production using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Adjust feeds, speeds, and tool paths to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Perform basic machine maintenance and keep work area clean and organized.
• Document production data and communicate issues to supervisors or programmers.
• Support overtime needs on Fridays based on workload.

• Experience operating CNC milling machines in a job-shop or high-mix environment.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T.
• Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other precision tools.
• Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, and materials.
• Ability to hold tight tolerances and perform in-process inspections.
• Basic troubleshooting skills for tooling, offsets, and machine performance.
• Reliable attendance for a fixed weekly schedule with Friday overtime as needed.

• Experience with CNC Milling, Fadal (Fanuc controls), Haas, and vertical mills.
• Leadership skills.
• Micrometers and calipers are required tools.

The position is based in a small machine shop that is non-climate controlled.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dalton, GA.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Dalton,GA.
