RN Per Diem

Job Title

Provides quality nursing care through the application of the nursing process using evidence based practice focusing on excellent outcomes and patient experience within the framework of Shared Governance.

Primary Position Responsibilities

• Documentation of Care
• Maintain Professional Development
• Education of patient and family
• Patient Advocate
• Maintain Patient Safety
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Education: Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required. If Associates Degree or Diploma must be enrolled in BSN program and completed within 4 years of hire.

Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation): Required: Two (2) years oncology clinical experience Preferred: One year acute care experience; radiation oncology experience highly preferred

License, Registry or Certification: Required: Current NJ RN licensure and American Heart Association CPR certification Preferred: Certification in specialty - OCN or related certification

Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities: Required: Skilled in applying the nursing process to address the physical, psychosocial and education needs of patient and families; Excellent communication and critical thinking skills; strong computer skills; flexibility and ability to work independently; Calm under pressure. Preferred: Venipuncture skills. Familiarity with radiation oncology procedures, including but not limited to brachytherapy procedures.
