Shift Details Shift: 1900-0700, weekends and holidays, as assigned. Hours/Week: 36.00. External Experienced Postpartum RNs may be eligible for up to $20,000 in bonuses. Unit Overview The Maternity Suite at Cambridge Hospital includes a Labor and Delivery (L&D) Unit and a Postpartum Unit, serving more than 1,100 families each year. The 7‑bed labor unit has 3 triage bays and 2 ORs, and is noted for a multidisciplinary, culturally sensitive approach and some of the lowest C‑section rates in Massachusetts. The Postpartum Unit has 12 private rooms with a Level 1B continuing care nursery and provides care for mothers and infants from birth through early postpartum to discharge. Job Purpose The RN provides ongoing assessment and care of the mother during postpartum periods according to established guidelines, and provides ongoing assessment and care of the newborn according to established guidelines. The RN provides education to the maternal‑newborn dyad from birth to discharge, orchestrates and coordinates discharge planning and follow‑up care for mother and newborn, and participates in ongoing maternal‑newborn unit‑based quality initiatives. The RN maintains clinical practice in accordance with AWHONN, ACOG, NRP, and AAP established guidelines and successfully completes the maternal newborn unit‑based competency programs as required. Qualifications and Requirements BSN preferred Current MA RN Licensure Current AHA BLS required; NRP required prior to completion of unit orientation Current mother‑baby/nursery experience required; Level 1B nursery experience strongly preferred The final offer may vary within the listed Pay Range based on a candidate's experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.
