Certified Surg Tech - Travel Job

Jackson HealthPros is seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist to expertly assist physicians and nurses in the operating room during surgical procedures. The clinician will prepare the operating room, sterilize and set up instrumentation and supplies, assist the surgical team intraoperatively, and support safe patient care across pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Current certification from a program accredited by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA). This is required by the client.
• Minimum 1-2 years of operating room experience. The client requires at least 1-2 years of OR experience in a comparable hospital setting.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience working in a Level II trauma or complex community hospital environment preferred.
• Experience with EPIC or similar electronic medical record systems preferred.
• Ability to work a rotating schedule, including weekend and evening rotations as required by the unit. This is a client expectation.
• Ability to take designated weekend and weekday evening call shifts as required by the client.
• Preferred: prior experience in units that manage pediatric, adult, and geriatric surgical patients and a clinician-to-patient ratio of 1:1.

Assignment Details

• Facility type: Hospital.
• Unit: Operating Room / Surgical Services. Unit description: Level II Trauma; complex community setting with approximately 15 beds and daily census of 30-40 patients.
• Shift name: Days.
• Shift details: Days 07:00-17:30.
• Shift pattern: Rotating shifts required. Approximately 1-2 weekend rotations and 1-2 evening rotations (13:00-23:30) per 4-week schedule. Approximately 2-3 weekday calls per 4-week schedule. Weekend rotation includes 07:00-15:30 and call 15:00-23:30 every 1 of 4 weeks. No night call required.
• Call requirement: Weekend and weekday evening call expected for Surgical Technologists per client policy.
• Patient population: Pediatric, adult, and geriatric surgical patients.
• Charting system: EPIC.
• Floating: Not required by the client.
