Our teams work collaboratively across engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and quality to deliver innovative, compliant, and cost-effective solutions that support hospitals and clinical environments.What's in it for You?Opportunity to drive meaningful cost savings on critical medical device productsCollaborative, cross-functional environment with exposure to engineering, operations, and leadership teamsAbility to influence product strategy and lifecycle improvements in a regulated industryProfessional growth through complex problem-solving and value engineering initiativesCompetitive compensation and benefits packageWork that directly supports improved healthcare delivery and patient outcomesWhat You Will Do in This Role?Own and execute cost-reduction initiatives for medical device products, including BOM optimization, material substitutions, design simplification, and supplier changesIdentify high-impact cost drivers through BOM analysis, supplier spend reviews, labor studies, and field repair dataLead engineering change activities (ECRs/ECOs) via SolidWorks associated with cost reduction while ensuring compliance with ISO, IEC, FDA, and QMS requirementsPartner with Supply Chain, Quality, and Manufacturing to evaluate alternate materials, processes, tooling strategies, and sourcing optionsCollaborate with Mechanical and Electrical Design Engineers to assess technical feasibility and risk of proposed cost-down changesPerform structured trade studies balancing cost, quality, risk, and manufacturability; document decisions and recommendations for leadership reviewSupport Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Cost (DFC) improvements on released productsApply DFMEA, PFMEA, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) processes to cost and quality improvementsAnalyze warranty, service, and repair data to identify recurring cost opportunities and drive corrective actionsCoordinate validation, testing, and phased implementation of cost-driven changes to minimize production and field disruptionTrack cost savings, implementation progress, and risk status; clearly communicate results to engineering and operations leadershipWhat You Will Need for This Role?Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline; advanced degree preferred8+ years of engineering experience supporting manufactured products; medical device or regulated industry experience strongly preferredDemonstrated experience leading cost-reduction, value engineering, or design-to-cost initiatives on released productsProficiency with CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred), PDM systems, BOM management, and issue-tracking tools such as JiraStrong working knowledge of manufacturing processes such as injection molding, blow molding, machining, sheet metal, welding, wire routing, and assemblyExperience with supplier-facing engineering changes, alternate sourcing, and material/process substitutionsWorking knowledge of ISO 13485, ISO 14971, applicable IEC standards, and FDA design control expectationsAbility to perform technical risk assessments and root cause analysis related to cost-driven changesStrong analytical and financial acumen with the ability to quantify savings and articulate trade-offsExcellent communication skills with the ability to influence across engineering, operations, and leadershipIt is the policy of Agiliti to provide equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender identity, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, age, physical or mental disability, genetic information, marital status, status as a veteran, military service, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local civil rights laws.
