Material Handler

Responsibilities

• Safely and accurately receive, load, deliver, and place shipments to the assigned, numbered exhibit spaces within the convention center.

• Use Freeman‑provided material handling equipment, including electric and manual pallet jacks, dollies, and carts, as needed.

• Remove empty containers from booths and return them at the end of the event.

• Attend the required safety meeting at the start of each shift.

Requirements

Ability to work safely around moving equipment, stacked materials, and active loading areas.

• Ability to operate basic warehouse tools and equipment (pallet jacks, dollies, carts); willingness to learn additional equipment as needed.

• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and lift throughout the shift in a fast‑paced environment.

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, including safety protocols and load‑handling procedures.

• Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safe operations.

• Ability to work in varying temperatures inside or outside the convention center.

• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, drivers, and exhibit staff.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines.

• Ability to use basic inventory or tracking systems (paper logs, handheld scanners, or mobile devices), if required.

• Ability to adhere to PPE requirements (gloves, safety shoes, high‑visibility vest, etc.).

***General Requirements***

When working in a warehouse environment through Bluecrew, you may be expected to do any and all of the following:

• Working independently or in a team to pick, pack, and ship items
• Safely relocating or repacking inventory items as directed, up to 50 pounds in weight
• Operating machinery or other light equipment as trained in a safe and responsible manner
• Reaching, crouching, bending over, and other physically strenuous activities as required by the immediate supervisor
• Working on your feet at a fast pace for the entirety of the shift
• Comfortable working in an environment where there are forklifts, machinery, large trucks, and other standard or sub-standard warehouse equipment
• There may be a specific dress code, but if it is not listed, please make sure to wear close-toed shoes and pants.

It is important to Bluecrew that you go home in the same healthy state that you came to work in, so please do not accept this assignment if you cannot fulfill all of the above duties.
