This role can enable upward development leading to increasingly challenging roles within the department, as well as across Flint Hills Resources and Koch Industries.What You Will DoApply subject matter expertise and excellent communication skills to help operation, business team and project management capabilities understand, identify and meet environmental compliance requirements and drive environmental excellence through continuous improvement.Become an owner or custodian of assigned environmental programs. This may include reading and interpreting regulations, preparing and submitting periodic compliance reports, and maintaining compliance records as required by company policy and environmental regulations.Partner with facility waste contractors and site waste technicians to ensure timely and compliant management of waste. Perform routine inspections of waste storage areas to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Motivate, influence and drive good business decisions forward while working with a diverse workforce.Must demonstrate initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team.Participate in facility audits and conduct independent audits to verify and enhance environmental performance.Ability to travel up to 10%Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical or Civil Engineering; Environmental Science; or a related science disciplineWhat Will Put You AheadExperience in a refinery or petrochemical settingExperience in environmental complianceKnowledge of federal and state laws governing environmental complianceKnowledge of state and federal waste management regulations For this role, we anticipate paying $90,000 - $120,000 per year.
