Job Summary:

The OB Surgical Tech is responsible for preparing and maintaining the sterile field during obstetric and gynecological surgeries. They assist the surgical team by ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are available and properly sterilized.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Prepare the operating room by arranging instruments, supplies, and equipment for OB surgeries.
  
  
• 
  Maintain a sterile environment by adhering to infection control standards throughout procedures.
  
  
• 
  Assist surgeons by passing instruments, sutures, and other sterile supplies during surgery.
  
  
• 
  Monitor and anticipate the needs of the surgical team to facilitate efficient procedures.
  
  
• 
  Ensure proper handling and disposal of surgical specimens and sharps.
  
  
• 
  Perform post-operative cleaning and sterilization of equipment and instruments.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent.
  
  
• 
  Current certification as a Surgical Tech (CST) required.
  
  
• 
  Proven experience assisting in OB or gynecological surgeries preferred.
  
  
• 
  Knowledge of sterile techniques, surgical instruments, and sterilization procedures.
  
  
• 
  Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety standards.
  
  
• 
  Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, sterile environments.
