Required License/Registration/Certification Licensure through the Kentucky Board of Respiratory Care and Registered Respiratory Therapist ( RRT ) through the National Board of Respiratory Care at time of hire. Physical Requirements Regularly sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time with repetitive motions (such as typing); occasionally lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects up to and over 50lbs; and occasionally standing or walking with objects up to 25lbs Shift Monday – Friday, Day Shift; 7:30 am – 4:00 pm (40 hrs/wk) Job Summary The Respiratory Therapist Senior/Sleep Center/ UKHC provides competent care of patients through airway management, various CPAP / BIPAP therapies, oxygen administration, and performing polysomnography studies in accordance with The Joint Commission ( TJC ) and departmental policies and procedures. General duties will include: registering patients; gathering patient pre-study paperwork; preparing patients and equipment for procedures; explaining procedures and interactions to patients; completing follow-up notes as needed; performing polysomnography studies and analyzing data to assist in obtaining proper diagnosis; entering charges; and cleaning all study equipment. This position will also have some administrative and clerical responsibilities for the daily operations of the department. All pay rates will be based on candidate’s experience. Skills / Knowledge / Abilities Communicate technical information about test results to physicians, family members, or researchers. The ability to work interdependently within a healthcare clinic team. Does this position have supervisory responsibilities?
