Travel ICU Registered Nurse (RN) - Nights | St. Johnsbury, VT

MTK Healthcare is seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel contract at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) in St. Johnsbury, Vermont.

Start Date: September 16, 2026
Assignment: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights
Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts/week
Shift Hours: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
EMR: Meditech
Holiday Coverage: Required
Overtime: After 48 hours/week
Call: Pager/call-back requirements may apply

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of RN experience
Recent critical care/ICU experience
Active RN license
Current BLS and ACLS certifications
Must be comfortable reading telemetry
Experience caring for pediatric, adult, and/or geriatric patients
Strong clinical judgment and ability to work in a critical-care environment

Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to patients requiring critical care.
Assess, monitor, and manage patients in the ICU setting.
Monitor telemetry and recognize changes in patient condition.
Administer medications and treatments according to established care plans.
Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Adapt care to meet the needs of patients across different age groups.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
Follow AACN standards and hospital policies for safe patient care.

Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital is a 25-bed independent nonprofit critical access hospital located in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom. The hospital features a four-bed open ICU and provides a broad range of primary, specialty, inpatient, outpatient, surgical, and emergency services.
