Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Summary:

Seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join the Labor and Delivery team at a suburban hospital located approximately an hour from Baltimore and Washington DC. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality obstetric care in a family-centered environment, supporting patients from 20 weeks of pregnancy through postpartum.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive obstetric nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods.
• Monitor fetal well-being using continuous external fetal monitoring (C-EFM) or equivalent technologies.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Educate patients and their families on labor, delivery, and postpartum care, ensuring comfort and safety.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
• Ensure adherence to all clinical protocols and maintain certifications including ACLS, BLS, NRP, and fetal monitoring certification.

Qualifications:

• Current and valid Virginia or compact RN license required.
• Minimum of 3 years of hospital-based Labor & Delivery experience.
• Active certification in ACLS, BLS, NRP, and fetal monitoring (C-EFM preferred or AWHONN Intermediate accepted).
• Proven ability to work rotating weekends and holidays; no call required.
• Demonstrated proficiency with modern obstetric equipment and family-centered care practices.
