MRI TechnologistThe role of an MRI Technologist operates MRI equipment to obtain filmed images for use by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies, according to Radiologist's directions and established procedures.Essential functions include, but are not limited to:Operates a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images used by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies.Selects appropriate imaging techniques and operates console and peripheral hardware.Positions patients, administers injections of contrast media and manipulates images to ensure a high quality exam.Explains procedure to patient, giving opportunity for questions to reduce anxiety and promote trust.Confirm patient identificationPrescreen and clear all patients prior to the patient entering scan room.Reviews the MRI Safety Plan annually.Cleans and maintains all equipment to OEM specifications.Obtains continuing education credits as required by licensureFollow OSHA GuidelinesHIPAA and Corporate ComplianceOther duties as assignedQualifications:Education and licensure:Formal education and training in the field of MRI. MRI certification required from ARRT or ARMRIT. Active free and clear State of Florida Radiologic Technologist licenseExperience:A minimum of 1 year of experience preferred.Skills:Communicate clearly and professional with all patients, physicians, and staff.Knowledge of anatomy and physiologyFollow instructions and protocolsMulti-task while being efficientProvide quality imagesPhysical requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
