General Summary

The Supervisor, Field Network is responsible for managing the network in a specific service area. Responsibilities include managing an field network team to ensure work performed is well-planned and well-supported; productivity levels are maintained; safety procedures are followed, and customer requirements are met in an efficient, timely manner.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Manages a team of Technicians performing Network Field Infrastructure work which support the core RF infrastructure.
• Ensures that required maintenance is performed to contain, eradicate and recover from network outages and security incidents perpetrated against the Company’s infrastructure.
• Resolves disputes with customers, landlords, tower owners and competitors.
• Provides ongoing network capacity management, performance management and design services
• Ensures that the Company network and infrastructure is properly designed and configured to support rapid growth in customer capacity.
• Delegates work assignments, provides direction and appropriate resources to complete assignments.
• Participates in and oversees development and training of Technicians.
• Collaborates with Area Manager to establish work quantities and future work quota allocations.
• Works with Area Manager to maintain available supplies and assets.
• Liaises with other Company departments; notifies appropriate parties immediately of any issues which may affect efficient operations.
• Reviews quality and productivity and provides feedback to Technicians.
• May resolve escalated customer complaints and questions. 
• Participates in staffing and recruiting efforts; interviews prospective job candidates and participates in the selection process.
• Conducts annual performance reviews for Technicians and handles disciplinary actions as needed.  
• Monitors Technician timesheets for accuracy.  
• Conducts meetings and promotes an atmosphere of safety and teamwork.  
• Ensures that Company vehicles are presentable and organized.
• May work outside or inside customer’s home or business to complete installations and repairs, as needed. May climb ladders and work on rooftops while performing installations and repairs.
• Drives a company truck between office and/or home, warehouse, and work sites in a safe and courteous manner, and in accordance with all laws and company policies.
• Regular, consistent and punctual attendance required. Works on regularly scheduled days as well as unscheduled days and beyond regular work hours due to customer or operational demands, as needed. May require weekend and/or evening work and some travel is required.
• Follows, supports and enforces all Company standard procedures, policies and safety practices in the course of performing work activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• HS Diploma or GED equivalent preferred; post-high school education a plus
• Minimum 18 years of age
• Valid state driver’s license and acceptable driving record in accordance with Company’s Motor Vehicle Policy
• At least three years’ supervisory experience with proven ability to manage staffing, performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, and terminations
• At least three years’ experience in fixed-wireless or job-related area, such as structured wiring (e.g., new construction electrical, low voltage wiring, home entertainment system wiring); field service installation and repair in voice technology (telephone); data (internet), or video (RF/cable).
• Experience must include Quality Control activities
• Comtrain certification is mandatory
• Rigging certification preferred
• Certified Climber/Rescuer preferred
• Excellent customer service, time management, and decision-making skills 
• Working knowledge of PC and MS Office products 
• Effective oral and written skills; ability to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels, internal and external to the company  
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work required shifts and overtime (as necessary)
• Ability to travel and provide service in assigned geography 
• Bilingual language skills in Spanish preferred
• Advanced knowledge of networking and electronics; electrical codes and standards relative to residential or commercial communications cabling
• Advanced knowledge of RF wireless technologies, IP networking, and wireless planning
• Ability to analyze and define problems, calculate figures and amounts, prioritize work flow, multitask, meet deadlines, and remain flexible

Working Conditions

• Employee is constantly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms. Must possess physical conditioning and stamina to climb heights up to 500 feet and perform physically demanding tasks at such heights. Must be able to frequently climb a ladder and work in an elevated position. On a constant basis, must safely lift, carry and maneuver heavy or awkward objects 100 pounds or more, with or without assistance. Specific vision abilities required include close up, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Full spectrum color vision required.
• Must be able to work safely in a field or office environment. Must be adept at working in adverse weather conditions.
• Daily travel within the Company’s geographical footprint is required.
