Therapist - Speech Language Pathologist

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provides assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders in patients. Develops personalized treatment plans and collaborates with healthcare teams to enhance patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate patients' communication, cognitive, and swallowing functions using standardized assessments.
• Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
• Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatments accordingly to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapy techniques and strategies.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and communicate patient progress.
• Complete comprehensive discharge summaries and maintain accurate electronic health records in adherence to regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

• Hold active ASHA certification and applicable state licensure.
• Possess a minimum of 1 year of speech-language pathology experience, preferably in LTC or rehab settings.
• Current Texas State License required.
• Certification in BLS.
• Demonstrate strong clinical assessment and documentation skills.
• Ability to supervise and support CFY or student SLPs is preferred.
