Diesel Mechanic

Position Summary Our Diesel Mechanic I are responsible for performing inspections, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on a wide range of diesel-powered equipment and machinery. This position supports safe and efficient operations by maintaining semi-tractors, trailers, heavy equipment, and other mechanical systems. The Diesel Mechanic I diagnoses mechanical issues, repairs hydraulic and electrical systems, completes required documentation, and ensures equipment is operating properly and in compliance with safety standards. Schedule Monday - Friday 6:00 am - 4:00 pm Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance services on diesel trucks, trailers, and fleet vehicles Complete oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, brake inspections, and fluid checks Assist with diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, air brake systems, suspension systems, and electrical components Conduct safety inspections and document repair findings accurately Replace basic mechanical components including belts, hoses, batteries, lights, and brake components Utilize hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment Respond to road calls or minor field service repairs as assigned Follow OSHA, DOT, and company safety standards Accurately complete work orders and maintenance records using shop software systems Support senior technicians on larger repairs and rebuild projects Qualifications Strong attention to detail Relevant Military experience Mathematical and mechanical aptitude Knowledge of welding and torching preferred Experience with air brakes and hydraulic systems preferred 1-3 years of diesel mechanic or fleet maintenance experience Trade school or vocational training in diesel technology preferred Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical Be over 18 years of age PADNOS has a rich history of taking care of our Team Members, their families and the multiple communities we serve.
