Emergency Room Registered Nurse

This position is for an Emergency Room Registered Nurse. The nurse will work three 12-hour night shifts. Ratios are based on patient acuity. Every other weekend coverage is required. No on-call requirement exists. The nurse may float within their scope to meet facility needs. First-time travelers with emergency room experience are accepted. Certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS are required. CPI and TNCC certifications are preferred. The facility regularly serves a daily patient census of 76. The emergency department includes various patient age groups, including neonates through geriatrics. Total staffed beds are 119. The nurse is expected to manage various emergency situations and procedures. Key skills include management of arterial lines, ventilated patients, blood product administration, and care of traumatic injuries. The nurse will have access to interdisciplinary support services including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, and pharmacy. Compliance for pre-start processes must be completed on time. Candidates should be prepared for emergency response assignments during hurricane season. Travelers should be aware of the potential for assignment changes during that season.
