Travel Registered Nurse – Surgical ICU (SICU)

Shift: 12-Hour Days or Nights (7:00 AM–7:30 PM / 7:00 PM–7:30 AM)
Contract: 13 Weeks

Join a high-acuity Surgical ICU at a Level II Trauma Center caring for complex surgical, cardiovascular, trauma, and critical care patients. This assignment is ideal for experienced ICU nurses who thrive in a fast-paced, tertiary care environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical care for surgical, trauma, cardiovascular, vascular, neurosurgical, orthopedic, ENT, and general surgery patients.
• Manage vasoactive drips, ventilators, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring.
• Perform continuous patient assessments, rhythm interpretation, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Float to the Medical ICU or serve as a patient observer when needed.

Requirements

• Active RN License
• BLS Certification
• ACLS Certification
• NIHSS Certification
• Recent Surgical ICU or high-acuity ICU experience
• Experience caring for CABG, vascular, trauma, and post-operative ICU patients
• TNCC preferred
• Experience with CRRT, IABP, Impella, or ECMO is preferred but not required

Assignment Highlights

• 16-bed Surgical ICU plus 2 procedural beds
• Typical ratios: 1:2 (1:1 for highest acuity patients)
• Intensivist and Respiratory Therapy available 24/7
• GE telemetry monitoring
• Every other weekend and holiday
• Two unit orientation shifts after hospital onboarding
• Professional scrubs of any color accepted
