Field Service Technician - CNC / Industrial Woodworking Machinery

About the Opportunity Yoursoft Digital is recruiting on behalf of an established North American distributor of advanced industrial and CNC machinery. Our client supports customers with high-quality equipment, technical expertise, installation, training, maintenance, and after-sales service. We are seeking an experienced Field Service Technician based in the Anaheim, California area to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC and industrial machinery at customer locations. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on technical professional who enjoys solving complex mechanical and electrical problems, working directly with customers, and operating independently in a field-service environment. Experience with CNC-controlled equipment, woodworking machinery, machine tools, industrial automation, or similar equipment would be highly valuable. What You'll DoInstallation, Service & Repair Assemble, install, commission, and start up new machinery at customer locations. Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, upgrade, and repair industrial machinery and equipment. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, electronic, PLC, servo-control, and pneumatic systems. Identify equipment issues efficiently and implement appropriate repairs to minimize customer downtime. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery. Work with equipment manufacturers and technical support teams to resolve complex service issues. Order and return replacement parts as required to support timely repairs and minimize equipment downtime. Maintain current technical knowledge through manufacturer training and independent learning. Follow applicable workplace safety practices, procedures, and requirements. Complete service work orders, installation reports, time sheets, and expense reports accurately and on time. Customer Support & Training Provide professional on-site technical support to customers. Conduct machine start-up and commissioning. Demonstrate equipment functionality and proper operation. Train customers on machine operation, applications, routine maintenance, and safety procedures. Explain technical issues and solutions clearly to equipment operators and customer personnel. Follow up on service issues to ensure they have been resolved to the customer's satisfaction. Build strong professional relationships with customers through responsive and reliable service. What We're Looking For Minimum 3 years of experience servicing, maintaining, troubleshooting, or repairing industrial machinery or equipment. Technical, trade, college, or post-secondary certification in a relevant discipline. Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting ability. Strong knowledge of industrial electrical and electronic systems. Experience with PLCs, servo systems/controls, and pneumatics . Ability to diagnose equipment problems systematically and independently. CNC-controlled machinery experience is a strong asset. Experience with woodworking machinery, machine tools, automated manufacturing equipment, or similar industrial machinery is an asset. Machining, welding, or fabrication experience is an asset. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Strong organizational and documentation skills. Customer-focused approach with professional communication skills. Ability to prioritize multiple service calls, work orders, and deadlines. Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in the field. Willingness and ability to continuously learn new equipment and technologies. Travel & Working Conditions This is a field-based service position and requires travel to customer locations. The successful candidate must be: Comfortable with regular travel, including out-of-town assignments as required. Available to work primarily during regular business hours, with occasional evening or after-hours work depending on customer service requirements. Comfortable working hands-on with industrial machinery for extended periods. Able to manage multiple customer service assignments and deadlines. Comfortable working independently at customer facilities while maintaining communication with the internal service team. Why Consider This Opportunity?
