Manufacturing Manager (Collars)

Overview Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking a Manufacturing Manager (Collars) in our Torrance, CA location. HFS is a unit of Howmet Aerospace. We are a global leader in aerospace fastening systems with a strong focus on quality, safety, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Responsible for the management of all aspects of the manufacturing activities (production, planning, manufacturing engineering, safety). Lead a department of 20+ employees with a sales average of $1.5M/month. Collaborate with Global Investment group on outsourced product. Manage planning to ensure smooth product flow through manufacturing cells and on-time delivery to customers. Coordinate all manufacturing activities with Procurement (including outside processing) to eliminate delays and meet production/shipping schedules. Set expectations, provide resources, audit performance, counsel employees, train, and establish policies and practices to exceed department goals. Lead the team to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual performance goals. Monitor operations metrics, track daily progress, mitigate risks, and ensure objective achievement. Collaborate with managers across functions to accomplish organizational objectives. Implement and sustain ABS (TPS) principles and practices. Oversee maintenance of equipment. Drive continual improvements and enhancements; promote engagement on the plant floor. Enforce company policies (attendance, overtime, safety, environmental, etc.) within the product group?s operations. Assess employee performance and mentor staff. Essential Skills Strong verbal and written communication skills; strong presentation abilities Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and conflict resolution skills Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Excel Ability to prioritize and complete multiple and diverse work assignments with minimal direction Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Bachelor\'s Degree from an accredited institution Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role within manufacturing Legal authorization to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available Access to export-controlled items required; eligibility to obtain such access is a condition of employment Benefits/Salary: The position includes competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401k matching, paid holidays and vacation.
