Material Handler

Our client, a leading organization in the manufacturing industry, is seeking a Material Handler to join their team. As a Material Handler, you will be part of the Industrial department supporting the weaving and loom operations. The ideal candidate will have strong physical stamina, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Material Handler

Location: ALTAVISTA, VA

Pay Range: $16

Shift: Midnight to 8 a.m. or 4p.m. to Midnight


What's the Job?

• Perform material handling tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs and working with fiberglass materials.
• Cycle assigned looms to determine filling yarn requirements and ensure proper operation.
• Use filling I.D. tags and list in yarn storage area to identify correct filling for each loom.
• Transport filling yarn from staging area to looms and collect empty yarn tubes for proper disposal or reuse.
• Segregate and dispose of waste materials such as pallets, trays, boxes, and plastic bags responsibly.

What's Needed?

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in material handling or related roles.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to operate powered and manual pallet jacks, trucks, and hoists safely.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen
• Strong attention to safety procedures and teamwork skills.
