Lead Maritime Mechanic

Lead Maritime Outboard Mechanic

RMGS, Inc. is currently recruiting a Lead Maritime Outboard Mechanic in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This position is contingent upon contract award.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Service and repair the craft and trailers, including light surface craft, Jet Skis, and various models of inboard and outboard motors
• Service, repair, test, and inspect trailers associated with transporting boats and watercraft
• Provide assistance during the testing, evaluation, and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, steering systems, and onboard equipment
• Provide on-the-job training instruction to entry-level mechanics

Required Qualifications and Experience

• U.S. citizen
• Valid U.S. driver's license
• Possess a Secret security clearance
• Five years' experience as an Original Equipment Manufacturer-certified mechanic with either Evinrude, Honda, Mercury, Suzuki, or Yamaha commercial, outboard engines, and ancillary equipment
• One year of experience in aluminum and glass-reinforced plastic hull repair, the process and procedures required to make minor/major repairs; to include advanced depot level
• Five years' experience with troubleshooting and minor repairs of inboard marine diesel engines manufactured by Caterpillar, Detroit Diesel, and Cummins
