Water Truck Driver

As a Water Truck Driver, you operate a water truck on an active construction site to control dust and support erosion control efforts. You work closely with the site team and assist with general labor and equipment-related tasks wherever needed to keep operations running safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Operate a water truck safely and efficiently on construction sites to control dust and support erosion control.
• Drive and maneuver the truck around active work areas while following site safety protocols and traffic patterns.
• Monitor water usage and coverage to ensure proper dust suppression across designated areas.
• Assist with loading and unloading materials as needed to support daily construction activities.
• Support general labor tasks around the site when not actively driving, including basic cleanup and equipment assistance.
• Collaborate with equipment operators and site personnel working with heavy machinery such as loaders, dump trucks, haul trucks, box trucks, and track hoes.
• Perform basic pre-trip and post-trip checks on the truck to identify and report any mechanical or safety issues.
• Follow all safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment while working outdoors in a construction environment.
• Adapt to changing site needs and help out in different areas of the project as required.

Essential Skills

• Proven ability to drive and operate a truck safely and confidently in a construction environment.
• Experience working around or with heavy equipment such as water trucks, dump trucks, haul trucks, box trucks, loaders, and track hoes.
• Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions on active construction sites.
• Valid Driver's License; no CDL required.
• Ability to perform general labor tasks and assist with loading and unloading materials.
• Strong awareness of safety practices and willingness to follow site rules and procedures.
• Reliable attendance and ability to work Monday through Friday from early morning to late afternoon, with some Saturdays as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in construction or site work is beneficial.
• Experience in truck driving or operating heavy equipment is a plus.
• Ability to communicate clearly with equipment operators and site supervisors.
• Willingness to work in a startup environment focused on autonomous heavy equipment.
• Flexibility to support different tasks on site as project needs change.

Work Environment

You work outdoors on active construction sites, spending much of your time in a water truck equipped with air conditioning for comfort during long shifts. The schedule typically runs Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with some Saturday work as project demands require. You operate alongside a range of heavy equipment, including loaders, dump trucks, haul trucks, box trucks, and track hoes, in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment where teamwork and clear communication are essential.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of New Braunfels, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
