Assistant/Associate Dean of Professional Development - Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine Florida International University invites applications for an open rank appointment as Assistant/Associate Dean for Professional Development and Continuing Medical Education within the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine. The successful candidate will play a critical leadership role in establishing the vision and direction for faculty professional growth and scholarly advancement across the College as it expands graduate medical education and undergraduate medical teaching. Responsibilities Design, implement, and evaluate faculty development programs, workshops, and online resources that support teaching effectiveness, scholarship, and career progression. Collaborate with the Office of Professional Development and Continuing Medical Education to deliver live and virtual sessions, interactive workshops, and personalized development activities. Develop and sustain systems for evaluating teaching and learning environments, supporting continuous improvement efforts, and ensuring compliance with accreditation standards (LCME, ACGME). Partner with faculty and stakeholders to create programs that augment research skills, increase scholarly productivity, and meet accreditation requirements. Maintain data necessary for accreditation and continuous quality improvement (CQI) processes. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications – MD or PhD degree; at least five years of experience as a faculty member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor; minimum of three years of experience in academic/educational leadership or equivalent experience. Desired Qualifications – Demonstrated experience in faculty development within medical education; experience with LCME and ACGME accreditation standards; excellent oral and written communication skills; proven experience working collaboratively with other departments, administrators, and university stakeholders; evidence of a commitment to mentoring and developing faculty.
