Radiologic Technologist

The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging examinations on patients to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions. This role involves preparing patients for procedures, operating radiographic equipment, ensuring safety protocols, and maintaining accurate records. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical aptitude, excellent patient care skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality imaging services. Key Responsibilities: Conduct X-rays, CT scans, MRI, and other radiographic examinations as prescribed by physicians. Ensure proper positioning of patients to obtain accurate images. Patient Preparation and Care: Explain procedures to patients and address any concerns. Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures, ensuring comfort and safety. Monitor patients during examinations to ensure well-being and proper conduct of the procedure. Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Operate radiographic equipment and adjust controls to set exposure time and distance. Maintain radiographic equipment in good working order, perform routine maintenance, and report any malfunctions to the appropriate personnel. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols to protect patients, staff, and self from unnecessary radiation exposure. Follow established procedures for infection control and patient safety. Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate patient records, including imaging results and reports. Ensure timely and accurate entry of data into the medical record system. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare team members to provide high-quality patient care. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members regarding procedures and results. Qualifications: Education and Certification: Associates degree in Radiologic Technology or related field. Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required. State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist (if applicable). Experience: Previous experience as a Radiologic Technologist is preferred but not required; new graduates are encouraged to apply. Skills and Abilities: Strong technical skills in operating radiographic equipment. Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions. Compassionate and patient-focused approach. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Working Conditions: Work may involve standing for long periods, moving and positioning patients, and operating heavy equipment. Exposure to radiation, infectious diseases, and potentially hazardous materials is inherent in this role; adherence to safety protocols is essential.
