Production Line Lead - Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

About the Role Our client, a rapidly expanding pharmaceutical company, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Production Line Lead to manage and optimize operations on a key production line within their facility in Welkom, Free State . This hands-on role involves supervising a team of production operators, ensuring adherence to strict GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and regulatory standards, and maintaining high levels of efficiency and quality. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, excellent leadership capabilities, and a commitment to safety and compliance. This is a crucial position that directly impacts the successful delivery of life-saving medications. You will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of production plans, troubleshooting operational issues, and fostering a productive work environment. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise a team of production operators on a designated pharmaceutical production line. Ensure all production activities are conducted in strict compliance with GMP, SOPs, and regulatory requirements. Monitor production performance, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions to maintain efficiency and quality. Train new team members on production processes, safety procedures, and quality standards. Maintain accurate production records, batch records, and equipment logs. Conduct regular safety checks and ensure adherence to all EHS policies. Collaborate with quality assurance, maintenance, and engineering departments to resolve operational issues. Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste. Operate and maintain specialized pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment. Report on line performance, issues, and achievements to the Production Supervisor. Requirements A Matric or equivalent qualification. A relevant diploma or certification in Pharmaceutical Technology or related field is advantageous. Minimum of 3 years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or team lead capacity. Thorough understanding of GMP and regulatory requirements in the pharmaceutical industry. Experience with aseptic processing or sterile manufacturing is a strong plus. Proven ability to lead and motivate a team. Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in basic computer skills and data entry. Ability to work shifts and adapt to changing production needs in Welkom, Free State .
