RN Emergency Department

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) is a vital member of the patient care team responsible for delivering both direct and indirect nursing care through the nursing process. This role involves patient assessment upon admission, including gathering medical history, vital signs, lab work, and diagnostic tests. The RN collaborates with physicians to plan and implement individualized care plans, ensuring patient safety and effective communication throughout the care continuum. A Bachelor's degree is preferred, with required active New Hampshire RN licensure, BLS, and ACLS certifications. Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments using appropriate interview techniques and basic medical equipment.
• Obtain and document past medical history, current medical status, vital signs, lab results, x-rays, and other diagnostic tests.
• Develop and implement written care plans under physician direction.
• Administer medications accurately and safely.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and effective verbal and written communication.
• Ensure patient safety by adhering to established standards and protocols.
• Interact positively and respectfully with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Accept and utilize constructive feedback to improve patient care and professional performance.

• Graduate from an approved School of Nursing.
• Current, valid New Hampshire Registered Nurse License or eligibility to obtain one.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
• Proficient in patient assessment, medication administration, and care planning.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• Clinical experience in emergency or critical care preferred.
• Certification in nursing specialty areas preferred.
• Membership in a professional nursing organization.

• Must respect patient diversity including culture, lifestyle, religion, and age in care delivery.
• Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced emergency department environment.
• Must demonstrate emotional resilience and professional conduct under stress.

• Mid shift schedule in the Emergency Department.
• Shift assignments and hours determined by department needs.
