CNA Caregiver for VA clients

Job TitleResponsibilities:Help clients remember to take prescribed medicationsAssist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks etc.)Assist clients with personal care and hygieneHelp clients complete physical therapy and other recommended exercisesDo the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop if neededPerform light housekeeping duties that clients can’t complete on their own, including preparing meals, feeding/tending to petsCollect information about conditions and treatment plans from caregivers, nurses, doctors and family membersReport any unusual incidents to nurses, doctors and family membersAct quickly and responsibly in cases of emergencyRequirements:Previous caregiver experience preferred but not requiredCurrent CPR (American Heart Association) CertificationWillingness to adhere to health and safety standardsKnowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraintsMust be respectful and compassionate with a good bedside mannerOutstanding communication, time management and interpersonal skillsPhysical endurance to complete required tasksHigh school diploma or equivalentWe are an equal opportunity employer and prohibit discrimination/harassment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws
