Head Athletic Trainer

Overview Head Athletic Trainer position providing expert athletic training services to student-athletes under the direction of the team physician or by written physician referral, and in accordance with the athletic training practice act. Oversee and deliver comprehensive athletic training care, guide and supervise a team of athletic trainers, and ensure adherence to best practices, professional standards, and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities Collaborate with head/associate athletic trainers to provide athletic training services to partnered school districts. Provide coverage for home athletic events and, as applicable, away events (travel required) and athletic training room hours at partnered schools. Participate in the development, coordination, and administration of a comprehensive sports medicine program between the organization, partners, and partnered schools. Serve as liaison between physicians, the school, school nurse, school counselors, administrators, coaches, athletes, parents/guardians, and other health-care team members, in compliance with state and federal laws including FERPA and HIPAA. Administrative coordination with physicians regarding concussion management procedures, including baseline and post-injury neuropsychological testing, progressive return-to-play monitoring, and clearance per physician or protocol. Provide athletic training services for sanctioned and/or contracted games to visiting athletes and communicate with visiting athletic health-care teams as needed. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited athletic training education program (e.g., CAATE-accredited program). Athletic Trainer: AZ license/credential requirement. Athletic Trainer-Board Certified (ATC). American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS). Preferred Master’s degree in athletic training from an accredited program and three (3) years of athletic trainer experience. Pay Range $26.76 - $39.81 /hour #J-18808-Ljbffr Commonspirit
