Electrical Engineer, PE I

About Us

At ENFRA, we don't just design-we deliver outcomes that transform how energy infrastructure is financed, built, and sustained.

As the leader in Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS), we integrate engineering, design, construction, financing, and long-term operations into a single, accountable team-removing traditional barriers between design and execution. This means our engineers don't work in silos or simply hand off drawings; they help shape full-lifecycle solutions that reduce costs, improve performance, and create measurable, lasting value for our clients.

Our approach goes beyond the traditional models. We combine real-time collaboration with constructors, operators, and energy specialists to design systems that are not only technically sound-but constructible, operable, and optimized for lifecycle performance. Every project is grounded in accountability, data, and a commitment to delivering guaranteed outcomes-not just design intent.

Through our EaaS model, we empower clients to modernize infrastructure without upfront capital, while achieving guaranteed savings, improved resiliency, and long-term sustainability. Our teams play a direct role in accelerating the energy transition-delivering solutions that decarbonize facilities, enhance operations, and future-proof critical infrastructure.

At ENFRA, you'll join a multidisciplinary team that spans the full project lifecycle-from concept through optimization-giving you the opportunity to see your work realized, measured, and continuously improved. We value practical innovation, cross-disciplinary thinking, and engineers who want to make a real-world impact beyond the drawing set.

If you're looking to move beyond traditional design and be part of a model that is reshaping the industry-ENFRA is where engineering meets ownership, accountability, and impact.

Overview

The Electrical Professional Engineer I (PE I) applies fundamental engineering principles to design, analyze, and support electrical systems for energy and infrastructure projects across hospital and college campuses. This role develops code-compliant, constructible designs-including power distribution, renewable energy, storage, and controls integration-within defined project scopes. The PE I collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordination with existing facilities, supports permitting and procurement efforts, and responds to field conditions. Responsibilities include preparing accurate calculations, drawings, and specifications, maintaining design documentation, and contributing to systems that meet performance, reliability, and energy efficiency objectives consistent with ENFRA's design-build delivery model.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for signing and sealing engineering documents, as applicable.
• Designs solar energy, battery energy storage, fuel cell, and combined heat and power plants with guidance from senior engineers.
• Performs analysis and design of electrical systems (power distribution, low/medium voltage systems, lighting, controls, etc.).
• Performs basic calculations for utility interconnects, arc flash, and short-circuit and breaker coordination studies.
• Prepares calculations, drawings, and specifications under established standards.
• Conducts site visits, field assessments, and data collection. May coordinate and plan 3D laser scanning efforts.
• Assists in project coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
• Applies engineering techniques within defined assignments.
• Performs work under general supervision.
• Handles moderately complex issues; escalates complex challenges to senior staff.
• Begins developing client interaction skills in supported settings.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of electrical system design and analysis
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and mathematical skills
• Proficiency with electrical design and modeling software
• Effective communication and documentation skills
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple assignments

Education & Licensure

• Bachelor's degree in architectural engineering, electrical engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of design experience
• Professional Engineer (PE) License

Preferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications

• Experience in energy infrastructure, ESCO, or EaaS projects

Travel Requirements

• 10-25% of time will be spent traveling to job sites.

Physical/Work Environment Requirements

• Prolonged periods of office work sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Ascending and descending stairs, ladders, ramps, and possibly scaffolding.
• Occasionally completed field survey in loud, peak/low temperatures, and/or elevated locations.
• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
• Field survey, including traveling to job sites, to document existing conditions and observe construction progress.
• Light work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects up to 20 pounds.

Pay Range
