Truck Sales Representative - Missoula, MT Due to federally mandated DOT regulations, Kenworth Sales Company is a drug-free workplace. Job Summary The primary function of the Truck Sales Representative is to solicit and assist customers in the ordering and purchasing of trucks. Duties and Responsibilities Solicits sales of new and used trucks marketed by the Company to customers located within assigned territories. Maintains market penetration and territory calls as required by Department Manager or District Manager. Assists the customer in identifying what model and componentry will suit his/her needs. Coordinates with Department Manager or District Manager on all Truck Sales. Creates and submits written proposals for truck sales identifying model, componentry specification, build schedule, and pricing to customer for acceptance. Coordinates all such bids with the Department Manager or District Manager to ensure accuracy. Completes all necessary paperwork for submission of new truck orders to manufacturer. Coordinates ordering process with Sales Coordinator. Assists Finance & Insurance department in completing paperwork necessary for closing of sale, including payment documentation, licensing and titling. Coordinates closing with Finance Manager and Office Management. Proactively markets internal F&I offerings including extended warranties as part of all new and used sales deals. Assists customer with any problems which may arise in connection with the sale of the equipment. Maintains courteous and continuing relations with customer base and working knowledge of customer base industries and equipment needs. Maintains a territory call route to include follow-up, cold calls and general prospecting of new customers. Promotes the sale of Company parts and service. Facilitate communication between customers and other departments. Maintains a superior level of knowledge and expertise in the trucking industry. Attends training courses and seminars as required by supervisor. Communicates with office staff and Department Manager regarding location and availability. Ensures that all trucks are maintained on the branch lot; this includes occasional start up and inspecting its overall appearance and condition. Further coordinates repairs and improvements needed with Department Manager and District Manager. Qualifications Ability to read, write and comprehend English instructions and information. High school diploma or the equivalent. Sales experience in truck sales or related field. Familiarity with the trucking industry, computer systems, current software, and large databases. Broad knowledge of all types of new and used Medium Duty, Class 7 and 8 trucks and their components. Valid Commercial Driver’s License preferred, and good driving record required. Professional personal appearance. Excellent communication, time management, and organization skills. Working Conditions This position involves both sedentary and physically demanding work. Will work both indoors and out. For part of the shift, the employee will climb stairs, climb in and out of vehicles, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach, moving about the dealership facility to communicate with managers, employees and customers. The employee will spend extensive periods of time at a desk, reviewing detailed computer printouts and inputting data on a computer. Will require travel in a vehicle to customer locations, which may require overnight stays and extensive driving. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted on a regular basis. Will be exposed to noise, dust, exhaust fumes and a variety of other hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
